Management Team

Rob Nichols – Chairman & Founder

Over 26 years experience, having worked in different roles within a major UK multiple for 20 years covering retailing, buying, logistics, and project management in the UK and France before leaving and setting up WOPI in 2006. Has a passion for the beers, wines and spirits categories and the opportunities for these categories worldwide.

Andy Kerr – Managing Director

Having started my career in Telesales and Marketing with a Metal company in Birmingham, the attraction of the Alcohol industry soon became too much to resist after a fortunate conversation with a Football Team Mate who was an Area Manager for Whitbread at the time and my journey in the Beer Industry began its due course.

I spent nearly 24 years with AB InBev under its different ownership progression through Whitbread, Interbrew, InBev, AB InBev working entirely in the Off Trade Channel managing Wholesale Cash & Carry, Symbol Group operators, Specialist Off License Channel and latterly The Travel Retail Channel.
Prior to taking up this exciting new position with World of Patria, after ABI, I worked for the last 4 years as a Commercial Controller for Asahi UK (formerly Miller Brands Uk).

World of Patria offers a great opportunity to broaden my knowledge of the wider drinks industry and allows me to venture into the exciting world of the wines and spirits market whilst learning on a day to day basis about different markets, countries and how to successfully develop and support a strong portfolio of brands including our own Tofka which I truly believe can become a main stream brand leader with the correct behind the bar execution..

Steve Smith – Director

After spending all my working life in the motor Industry progressing to Directorship level, representing Marques such as Renault, Peugeot and Mercedes, I jumped at the opportunity presented to me by Rob in 2009 to become GM. My role and the business have evolved tremendously over the last ten years, as has my knowledge of the industry which I have such a great passion for. Although it has been a very steep learning curve at times, 30 years of experience in Retail and Trade sales along with my experience as committed sportsman and coach has, without doubt, given me an extensive skillset which has been put to good use within World of Patria.

Michael Thompson – Financial Director

Married with one daughter and two granddaughters.
Qualified as an accountant in September 1984.

After three years in industry went back into private practice and set up my own firm in September 1991. World of Patria International Limited became a client of the firm in 2010 and over the past eight years I have become more involved in the financial side of the business and in July 2017 I became the finance director of the Holding company.
